At PM Plastics, we’re operating 24 hours a day, five days a week to ensure quality for you. We take pride in this and all things that make us stand out including:
- 22 injection molding machines ranging from 30 to 550 tons
- In-house tooling capabilities for new tool builders and maintenance for ongoing tools
- Transfer tooling capability
- Secondary manufacturing services such as assembling complete devices, including various plastic joining capabilities
- Lights-out manufacturing capability
PM Plastics tool room houses all the resources we need to design, build, change, maintain and fully document each of your tools and fixtures. With our in-house capabilities, we quickly kickoff and manage the entire tool build for either a production or prototype tool. Whether it’s a simple open-and-close aluminum prototype tool for initial stages of design validation or a complex multi-cavity H-13 tool with numerous slides and actions, we have you covered.
Looking To Transfer Tooling?
Our no-risk tool transfer program reduces your stress because we thoroughly document everything for approval before anything even happens to your tools. Our team photographs and thoroughly assesses each tool, cavity, slide, auxiliary supply, and other components we receive from you. Our staff then documents with exacting detail the condition of your mold upon receipt and recommends any repairs.
Our expert engineering team will work with you on every project from assisting you with designing a part to full qualification and approvals. Once you approve a part and it is in regular production, your purchasing team can coordinate with our customer service representatives who will track your product orders and deliverables.
When you need to make changes to a part’s design or work on a next-generation product, our engineering team will collaborate with you to modify your product or successfully launch a new product. Let us help you with material selection, too. Our engineers’ innovation expertise ranges from standard stock materials to highly complex engineered resins. They deeply understand the injection molding process as well as the properties and flow characteristics that most resins exhibit. Our engineers are experts who can, for example, help you decide whether pre-colored materials are more advantageous than adding colorant to natural resin at the press.
Experience & Scalability
During every phase of your project, our engineers will review critical drawing tolerances and deliver world-class solutions for tooling and manufacturing. Their critical know-how keeps your costs low, a mission as important to us as it is to you. Finding the right design at the outset saves you time and money as your product moves from design to full production.
When it comes to modifying a design, our engineering team offers enhancements to next-generation products and looks at the entire manufacturing process to recommend combining or eliminating steps (either in your facility or at ours) via lean cell manufacturing or advanced processing.
We offer a full suite of decorating, assembly, and packaging services.
Because we’re committed to quality we use the latest servo-driven and custom automation machines incorporating vision systems to thoroughly inspect our work and your product. To precisely control the process, we validate and document every machine prior to use and ensure:
- Inserts & components are present
- Labels & seals are oriented correctly and located in the proper positions
- Inserts are seated to the proper depth
- All products meet critical customer requirements before final packaging
